New York
Seattle may be sleepless but it's New York that can really grow on your dreams. From Frank Sinatra to the Bee Gees, from Woody Allen to John Updike, everyone has taken a bite of the Big Apple. And loved it. New York has pure love at its core.
Alappuzha, Kerala
Not a day passes in the tourist season when a romantic scene is not shot in Alappuzha. One of Kerala's most celebrated holiday and honeymoon destinations, Allappuzha or Alleppey is a year-round retreat. Known as the Venice of the East -- a sobriquet conferred on it by the Viceroy Lord Curzon -- it attracts holiday-makers from around the world who spend long hours of tranquil solitude on luxurious houseboats enjoying sumptuous
Barcelona, Spain
Spain is all about romance and adventure, and Barcelona is the perfect embodiment of beauty and charm. The city was one of the predominant locales for the Bollywood film Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara. There's more to Spain than Barcelona , but it's a most romantic place to get started.
San Francisco
The City by the Bay is full of love, freedom and charm. And the occasional earthquake makes it kind of like what to expect in real life to come! Seriously though, Ess Ef is full of charming sights and fun things to do. Love is always in the air.
Rome
None less than Shakespeare was inspired by it. One the world's ancient cities and the setting of many a love story, Rome is also full of mystery and myth. Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn's romance in Roman Holiday is hard to forget, but perhaps easier to emulate?
Paris
The City of Lights, where Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris was set, inspired everyone from Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dali and Picasso to F Scott Fitzgerald. Surely, it can accommodate another pair of lovebirds. Why, Paris always has room for love!
Istanbul
The capital of Turkey , with awe-inspiring skyline against the gentle waterways of the Bosphorus, has inspired writers, poets and filmmakers. Orhan Pamuk wrote about sailing along the Bosphorus in Istanbul - Memories of a City. The recent blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger had Salman Khan bouncing around (not shirtless, thankfully) around the picturesque environs of Sultanahmet Mosque. Don't look too far for romance.
